Three guys, two girls and a Scottish man
piled into a full size and a minivan.

Departing for Utah they had one thing on their mind,
that was to escape for a week only to climb.

American Fork was the destination this trip,
the limestone was good till it started to drip.

Wating for the rest to catch up sat Dave and Rebecca
when to their surprise Jason arrived in the X-terra.

A plan was soon concocted to head south to some sun
so ST. Gieore became the place for warmth and for fun.

Anxious to climb everyone scrambled for a route
with the warmups taken Shane and Rebecca were without.

Eventually all were climbing up through the grades
We started low with a 10 and headed right into 12a's.

The next day Dave promised us climbs in the shade
but in spite of the heat, 12a redpoints were made.

The end of the day we found ourselves with free time
what does a climber do but set up a slackline.

The guys showed finesse for they rarely fell
which was good since the plants were ready to impale.

Our rest day started out well with a stop at Starbucks
but on the way to Zion the van tire bust.

In 100 degree heat all enjoyed the river with smiles
all but Sam who went for help and ran for 4 miles.

With the tire replaced we were off to Zion
Where we hiked and we ran through the beautiful canyon.

Though we should have been giving our bodies a rest day
we couldn't resist bouldering, handwalking and cirque de soleil!

As the day progressed we noticed a trend
Rebecca was bleeding from each of her limbs.

Wednesday was a day of onsighting 11d,
though that entailed getting bat crap on the knee.

Then onto the scene came Lauren Lee,
Sam heard what a smooth talker Shane could be.

While on a 13a Lauren Lee flailed,
then minutes later Sam got on it and sailed.

With success freshly tasted we were done for the day
Then a game of Castle Risk was brought forth to play.

With a sweep of the board done nation by nation
Shane showed his might through world domination.
